The Church School General Secretary coordinates and facilitates trainings and workshops to ensure that children and adults in our local churches who attend come to know the Biblical faith in a safe, friendly, welcoming environment where all may experience the love of God and be spiritually nurtured. An understanding of, and respect for, the faith and inclusive values of our church are of critical importance.
The mission of the Church School in the Union American Methodist Episcopal Church is to teach, train, nurture adults, young adults, college students, teenagers and children in God’s word; preparing them for Christian service by emphasizing Christian principles. The Church School shall employ methodologies for effective Christian growth and maximum participation inclusive of creative pedagogues and state of art learning technologies and multimedia products.” “There is to be a Church School in every local Church”
Responsible to encourage, manage, maintain and monitor Church School Superintendents throughout the connection in the performance of their duties.
Responsible to make sure every church in the Connection has an active Church School and Vacation Bible School program.
Responsible for the Organization, maintenance, and information regarding Church School supplies and curriculums.
Submit articles for the Union Messenger, with information about the Church School program.
Sponsor a General Church School Convention every (4) years
